There was one objective today. Pizza. I've been craving a good pizza and today was the day that craving was satiated. In an attempt to save a few pennies, we hopped on the bus to Tooting, home to a Franco Manca. After strolling around the markets, pizza was calling, so we sat down to our table. Soon after, two delicious, sourdough pizzas, topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella, olives, pancetta and spinach landed in front of us. I think it goes without saying that this was the highlight of my weekend. One enormous slice of tiramisu later, we started walking towards Balham. We reached Balham pretty quickly, so carried on through to Battersea - we passed the Battersea Cats and Dogs home so popped in to see some of the animals waiting to be rehomed. It was pretty sad seeing so many lovely pups and cats who'd be left, but also really nice to see how many had already been offered new homes.
Not content with the 8 miles we'd covered, we continued through Battersea Park and eventually over the bridge into Chelsea. After a coffee break, we hopped on a bus home.
Did I mention before how much I dislike working on Sunday? This one was made a little better as I had a bit of company from a special someone at lunchtime. No photos though, soz.
